Its a very informative review of the Araku valley and Tyda. In fact I have planned a road trip to Vizag, Tyda and Araku valley next week and I will be driving down in my safari with my family from Kolkata via Puri.I hope my stay at the Jungle Bells Eco Resort will be a memorable experience to share.Thanks for the nice post and pics.

Sorry to hear that u were disappointed with the RR package but the best way to cover any place is by trying out different things on ur own..I agree that theres not much to c in aruku but the real beauty of aruku lies in its climate..chilling cool temperature.Did u happen to c the yellow flowers?they bloom during winter and its a sight to behold.The place is calm,isolated and one of the best to spend ur weekends.The food at vasundhara is great.Did u try that.Also theres a waterfall near the borra caves called as katika.Did u happen to c that.Terrific place.Nice trek.And the icing on the cake would be if u can manage to squeeze TYDA into ur schedule.We came to know all these because we interacted a lot with the local people.The tours and packages are the worst ways to visit any place unless u want a hasslefree relaxed journey which I feel u had.For people who are planning to visit aruku,plz do go ahead.Its worth going.And the trip would be ligher on ur buget too.We were a group of 8 guys.We stayed in a decent hotel and had booked a cab for the entire two day trip.Each of spent around 700 for the entire trip(TYDA not included).

Hi, It would be great full to you if you can remove this post. Actually, after reading this post, any one would get a negetive impact on the araku vally.It is actually a beautifull and one of the most beautifull places i have ever seen. i did not even like munnar or ooty travel as much i did at araku. the only mistake you did was to take aptdc group trip. to enjoy araku you must go individually or go in a group with you own transport options.

Just back from Jungfraujoch yesterday - splendid indeed!

I'd just like to correct a comment about fares and Eurail passes. Once you reach Interlaken, the Eurail pass doesn't give you free travel - you have to pay a (reduced) fare between Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald and Kleine Scheidegg in each direction.

Another point that I discovered is that it is cheaper to buy your Interlaken to Jungfraujoch fares at the Jungfraujoch Rail Centre in Interlaken than at a SBB/CFF station.

WE found this blog really useful for our trip though (even if it did mean getting hit for extra Swiss Francs by a conductor between Grindelwald and Interlaken. :)

Hi...really nice travelogue. Clears up quite a few doubts about a Swiss trip. I will be going to Europe next month for an exchange programme and will be travelling around using a Eurail Global Pass. Is this pass valid for free/discounted travel on Swiss trains, esp. the Jungfraubahn? Also, I can only spare 4 days for the Swiss trip and that includes travel to and from Paris. Given that the time will be October/November, which places do you suggest I visit?

The global economic meltdown has taken its toll on almost all the industries across the globe. Developing countries like India badly suffered in the wake of inflation and recession.
